A bsolute Requirement: Registration as an Architect by the State of Illinois. M inimum Requirements: Graduation from an accredited five year college or university majoring in architecture or architectural engineering and four years' experience in architecture, one year of which must have been at the full professional level. Substitution: Graduate study in architecture or a rchitectural engineering maybe substituted for the required experience on ayear-for-year basis. Professional orsub-professional architecture or a rchitectural engineering experience may be substituted for the required education on ayear-for-year basis. Examination: The examination will consist of an oral test, including a written exercise weighted 100°x6. Candidates must achieve a passing score to have their names placed on the eligible list. T he oral test will assess candidates' knowledge, skill and ability in areas such as state and local construction practices, rules and regulations; construction materials; interacting with various trade groups and theirjurisdictional boundaries; recent developments, current literature and sources of information in architecture; using AutoCAD to review and analyze drawings and accompanying explanatory comments; assessing the feasibility of b uilding and renovation projects; supervisory concepts; and oral, interpersonal and written communication. In instances w here both Original Entrance and Promotional eligible lists result from an examination process, it is the District's practice to appoint only from the Promotional eligible list until all names from that list have been considered.
